About

Hi, thanks for stopping by – my name is Jacquie.

I am a book nerd and serial-self-improver –  in other words I read A LOT of self help books.

Way back in my 20’s I was very much into all things New Age and I talked about the “the universe”! These days I’m all about God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

I don’t know about you but when I read a great book, I always have the intention that I will reread it at some point, but I found that I never did. There was always another great book to read to take its place. So I decided to start taking notes so that I could access the gist of a book without having to reread the whole thing again. I want to share some of these notes with you. I’m a bit of a chatter box when it comes to my verbal communication, word economy is not my strong point so the challenge for me is to share ideas with you in a way that gives you a nice quick takeaway with no 20 minute wait. I hope the ideas shared will lead to conversation between us and that you will share your ideas too.

The other things I am interested in are health and wellbeing and I have recently become interested in social media and its impact in business. I am a mum to a teenage son  – so I read a few parenting books (just a few!) Plus I am really interested in personal finance and helping others manage their money. I hope that the ideas of the authors I read will be interesting to you.

  1. Hi Jacquie,
We are alike in that I don’t seem to be able to write short posts. Even my comments can be a little wordy at times. I like the idea of keeping notes on books read because like you I usually want to re-read but find I either don’t have the time, or want to use that time reading something new. I’m so glad God took a hold of you and now you can use your enthusiasm, gifts and abilities for his glory.
All the best with your blogging, reading, parenting and other interests.

    1. Thank you. I have it say I am loving this Blogging 101 course. It’s the push that I needed to actually “do” this as opposed to “talk” about. But the best part is connecting with such lovely encouraging people like yourself. Thank you and bless you.

  2. Likewise. I am enjoying this course although taking it at a slower pace. Like you, my blogs enable me to write regularly rather than talk/dream about being a writer. I have been amazed by how friendly and supportive members of the blogging world are and I so appreciate the abundance of free support materials available from WordPress. Great to meet you Jacquie and I look forward to having further conversations with you.

  3. Hi, I’ve come by to check on you and to see if you are still blogging. I see it has been quite a while. If you are around, drop by and leave me a note. I’m following if you post I will catch you. Have a great new year!

    1. Hi Oneta – thank you for your lovely message. I am still blogging but certainly not as often as I want to be. One of my New Year’s resolutions is to try and post at least once a month and since I have only just posted something, I’m already a bit behind. I am also behind in my reading. I moved house last week and I now have a longer travelling time, so it occurred to me this morning that instead of gazing out the window, I can use that time more productively reading. I hope all is well with you and that the year ahead is full of joy and blessings for you and your family.
