Rest

I’ve talked about my favourite word Done before, but this week a Holy Spirit prompting has given me a whole new perspective…

I can find rest in the things I do,
not just when the things I need to do,
are done.

Meaning…. that in the work of everyday life, I can ask God to help me experience peace and rest in the “works” rather than “rest” being a destination I get to, when I have finished (all) my tasks.

How? A simple, anytime, humble and powerful prayer: God, please help us.

“If you are tired from carrying heavy burdens, come to me and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28 CEV

  1. Amen! And Amen! Thank you for the reminder Jacqueline. I really do need to take this message on board. Because I am generally slow in completing tasks I often rush whilst doing them. Even when I vacuum I can hear my husband’s voice in my head telling me to slow down. Not only is the end result better but I also feel more at peace, whilst rushing to get to the next task seems to make me anxious. Yes, enjoying God’s rest whilst going about my day-to-day roles will be my aim from now on, starting today!
I do admire your ability to say so much, in so few words Jacquie. A skill I need to practice! 😃
